Well I must say that the new design is too simplistic. The old design was more classy and it was fine, it was not simplistic, rather it was simple and elegant.
I do not like the new design, but that is just me. Chillhop is amazing and its logo does not define its quality, furthermore it is also good to see that someone had the courage to make changes.

The old logo looked better in my personal opinion - it had the issue of not being recognisable because every 2nd music channel got some handwriting-style kinda shit. The new Logo Sure looks more modern but w/o the raccoon there is exactly 0 parting it from being simple plain modern writing in an unrecognisable font

You basically kept the Layout, changed the font and integrated the raccoon - which i, in all honesty, missed since i never actually ever looked at the screen when playing music from your channel. I'd hesitate to call it a characteristic after 0.5 yrs
The rather Problem is your logo being just a font and not even a rather recognisable one. Take a look at Coca Cola (extra fancy handwriting done right), Netflix or Subway. Youd sure think of the right brand if you read any word in their design.

We've been using the raccoon in our outings in the last half year, so I'd say the raccoon is a characteristic of our brand at this point.
As for finding a similar font, I feel like you can find a similar font to any sort of lettering within 10 minutes.
We've kept the characteristics of the old logo in the way the the text is laid out additionally, with the music next to the p.
I'm interested in hearing which brand you see as an example that did it well. :)

Which brand characteristics? I just see the raccoon in the C, besides that i bet finding a font looking 80-99% similar takes about 10 minutes of work, for either new or old one.
I personally thought the old font was better fitting to the music that youre uploading.
I just dont see anything special about the new font besides the new Implementation of the raccoon, which is a new Implementation itself so not a characteristic yet

It's a custom designed font with brand characteristics, as opposed to using a pre-existing font I found 5 years ago.
I feel the recognizability is far higher with a font like this as well.
But to each his own, it's always goot to give it some time / let it sink in a bit before writing it off though.

The raccoon is a good idea, but the font of "Chillhop" is too basic, the previous one was near perfect. It should represent this idea of "chilling", with a cursive font flowing on the right

I knew since seeing the raccoon something was coming. For the last 4 years just seeing that old logo in my notifications got me excited. The scenery backdrops and the jazz infused tunes just blended so well with that style. Hopefully I can get used to this change and not just look back on 2014-2017 as the good ol' days.

I don’t love it. I loved the old Logo. It was perfection. I like the raccoon motif but not sure this new logo works that well. Maybe another refresh a bit down the track and maybe could you bring back the old logo in the merc store as the ‘vintage’ version. Love what you guys do, keep on keeping on.

I miss the old nature vibe of the stream but i guess those beautiful landscapes were too hard on the stream quality, this is good enough too, but man i will miss those forests, mountains and deserts... they were breathtaking. Well at least Chillhop has grown and im happy for that too! best of lucks Bas van Leeuwen!!

I totally agree with you. I really missed the old livestream like in 2016 (Nature visuals / more uplifting beats) before they changed to anime theme, and sadly looks like they removed many amazing old videos (Like city nights, chillhop hangouts :( )

You guys are always innovative so i'm not suprised! Happy that you guys had the courage to make changes. A personal opinion- i feel the old logo looked better. I appreciate the hard work that the designers did, but the old one was perfect. Simple and clean, and totally defined the aesthetic of chilling. It would be great if you mixed the font that you had for the old logo to the new logo while incorporating the raccoon design. Keep on growing!:)
