As a Japanese bands fan Im glad to see Nuclear Blast is working with Lovebites they are pretty good ^_^ <3 btw Japan has tons of epic bands that are not so recognized but they are awesome too if you are not familiar with the Japanese scene go for it trust me you will discover lots of great bands and musicians.

+Nesys Some of my favorite Japanese bands (in no particular order):
Destrose - Heavy metal. Both Miho (bass) and Haruna (drums) were originally in this band before forming Lovebites. It's tricky to get ahold of their music these days but it's absolutely worth the effort of tracking it down.
Mary's Blood - Power metal. A band formed by former members of Destrose.
Band-Maid - Hard rock with some metal influences. They have a maid visual theme and play with that theme during concerts. But don't let that fool you. They're serious musicians.
Wagakki Band - Folk rock. They combine traditional Japanese instruments/clothing/singing/performance with modern rock. Wagakki Band is very much a visual band and is just as much fun to watch as listen to.
Aldious - Heavy metal. It's unclear what the band's future looks like as their current singer, Re:NO, recently had to leave the band due to health reasons. But they're still worth a listen.
Sonic Lover Reckless - Hard rock. Consists of vocalist Aya Kamiki (Uroboros) and Lovebites guitarist Miyako.
Scandal - Rock/pop rock. Despite not being as heavy as the other bands I've listed, Scandal is near the top of my list of favorite Japanese bands. These ladies know how to rock and are a ton of fun to listen to and watch live. Their studio albums are good but their live performances are where it's at.

The dislikes are mad because there aren't 20 breakdowns and that there's actual skill used in this song. The twin guitar solo is phenomenal.

Aldious does actually have interest outside japan, they did an interview for the UK two years ago, and their new EP is having a special release in the west. you have to remember Aldious is an inde band (they formed their own record label)

HOT DAMN!! I was unfortunately ignorant of this amazing music until just recently, but man am I glad I stumbled onto this youtube feed. Hot Japanese Girl Power Metal is the most underrated genre nobody in america really listens to, but I am now a fan! Dueling guitars and pounding double pedal like that is usually accompanied by some ugly hairy dude yelling at you, which is just fine, but this is on another level. I for one hope these chicks get big enough to tour globally, I'd love to see them live.

Such an incredibly talented group! Loved the lead in to the solos with Miyako’s keyboards and Miho’s bass. Haruna slays on her drums, Midori & Miyako show their best on the solo. Asami’s expression in the video is lovely and her vocals are extraordinary! ☺️🤘

@Allan Lamb - Indeed. And that's a huge shame because they're one of the best metal bands around. Lovebites has surpassed them for me personally but Aldious comes in a close second. If Aldious ends up touring anywhere, it'll probably be in Europe due to them being signed with JPU Records. But even that doesn't seem incredibly likely.

@Rufu Ragumo - Very well-said. The ladies in Lovebites didn't get to where they are with just money alone. They've been working their butts off in the music industry for years. It isn't like this is their first attempt to be in a successful band. They have genuine talent and have earned every ounce of praise they're getting for their Lovebites work. If they have any outside help when composing, it usually comes from Mao (formerly in Light Bringer). But they compose pretty much all of their own music.
Sadly, there really are a lot of Japanese bands that never make it very far *because* of how many Japanese music labels approach marketing. If you're lucky enough to find a band's music online, you then have to hope the online store you've found it on will actually sell the music to people outside of Japan. There are multiple websites that have helped fill that void and will sell/ship internationally (CDJapan, Amazon JP, and HMV are great examples), but far too many don't do that.
To make matters worse, you often have to buy physical CDs for most bands. I personally don't mind it because I love getting all of the extras that often come with them. But a lot of people have moved on from physical CDs. Selling albums digitally is quite rare for a lot of Japanese labels. If they do decide to sell albums digitally, they often don't sell them to anyone outside of Japan. That alone is a huge missed opportunity. I've lost track of the number of times I've heard people express an interest in a band and then give up when they can't find them on iTunes.
Thankfully, multiple labels have been pushing some of their bands more internationally. Lovebites, Scandal, Band-Maid, Wagakki Band, and Babymetal, for example, have been marketed internationally. They even sell and ship merchandise internationally. Touring outside of Japan is equally important. All of them do that. There are a lot of other bands that deserve to be marketed that way too. Unfortunately, a lot of them will never get much of a chance because of poor international marketing. :(

It's not like they're get to this point without effort though, they were in different bands before Lovebites, Haruna and Miho was in Destrose, Miyako in A Drop Of Joker, and Midori in Gekijo Metalicche. Even the Lovebites management is still stubborn, if you look at victor's channel, the Japan version of this MV still have the stupid ads in the middle, which could turn people away before they even get to the good part. Or how they split the MV into 2 version so the viewer get split too, hence lower viewcount, and lower chance for it to get suggested to a potential new fan.

Gods above and below I love this band. I wish they would come to America. Idiot House of Blues and Hard Rock actually bring in COVER BANDS instead of bands like LOVEBITES. THAT would be a great tour for them. 2500 people and up venues.

Aldious, Destrose, and Mary's Blood are all worth your time if you like Lovebites. While not an all women band, Mardelas features one of the former singers from Destrose (Marina) and is definitely worth a listen as well. Destrose's turbulent line-up, while frustrating, led to a lot of really great metal and hard rock bands.

Miho and Haruna have been around for a long time. They played before in the band "Destrose". After they split, Miho and Haruna founded LoveBites and the others went to form Mary's Blood (also All-Female metal band). Check out Destrose and Mary's Blood if you like LoveBites.
"Aldious" and "Fate Gear" (also All-Female metal bands) are also worth listening into, as they ocassionally do events together with the ex-Destrose members.

I can't believe how many all female Japanese metal bands there are, but this is the best I have found. Glad I was able to find their CDs on ebay because not sure how else I can get them in the US

@Jimmy Zhu Indeed. I mean, death metal is often incredibly dark. But Lovebites is power metal, which can have a very wide range of tones and subjects. Besides, some of the band's other songs are much darker if positivity is a negative (I don't think it is).

Asami comes from a pop/RnB background and it shows for sure. It's a different mixture of styles but I enjoy it a lot.

You should listen to some of the band's other songs. Asami definitely has all the right power in her vocals for power/symphonic metal. She's a bit more restrained in this song.

Great energy but the singer is a little weak, and can't stop flailing her damn hair! Pump up her vocals more to make it work.
