Yes it is remeniscent of Bark at the Moon... Purposely! He wrote it immediately after hearing "Bark" on the radio for the first time in 15 years and thought to himself "I want to revisit that pattern again" and found a new progression for it. it's called having a "style". Now shut up rock police... until you can accomplish something even close to what Jake has.
tgitarezam b 22 ноября 2018 года в 05:26
it's not just the guitar riff, it's the pre-chorus vocal sung like ozzy. i like it though.
Robert Nema 22 ноября 2018 года в 04:29
+David S. No, it doesn't sound anything like Frampton. WTF?????
Hari Menon 29 октября 2018 года в 00:32
Well said, Gavin.
Geo B 29 августа 2018 года в 15:33
LOL rock police!! Yes indeed, police do not belong in rock...when it comes to rock n roll anything goes.
j.c.m hard core metal fan 29 сентября 2017 года в 11:49
David S. I don't think there is anything in this song that's close to for criticism.its not always correct being it's nothing more than someone's opinion.there has been more times I can remember that someone (supposedly a professional) criticized a song, movie, whatever before it even came out and the results came back that they were wrong.if someone doesn't agree or thinks that something isn't good or something needs to be changed to make it better doesn't always work like that.there are more bands that fell hard by critic's opinions or sometimes bashing of them that they said fuck that this is us and this is how we want to sound ,play, etc.and they became huge, famous, idols, and legends.criticism has made a band better by ignoring shit and doing what they believe in.thats a true story.

This guy left a huge hole in rock music, thanx to that grunge trend. I,m Glad he is back and grunge is dead! Rock on!

greenslider 12 сентября 2018 года в 21:32
Grunge was a greasy spot that had to burst...but it changed the landscape of the face of Rock... Much as the LA glam!hair scene did for years after it imploded... Trends...
j.c.m hard core metal fan 02 сентября 2018 года в 03:37
Bill & Bill`s Gentlemans Club grunge didn't kill anything.whatever hair metal is was going out before that short lived music came out.grunge was just at the right time to get noticed in a bigger way. Commercially Metallica and guns were so big getting most recognition but bands like Slipknot, Slayer, Megadeth,n like it or not Crue we're still selling out shows everywhere.grunge was out almost as fast as it was in and it's never coming back like the so called hair bands has(the good ones anyway).so actually can't kill what wasn't really dead.just proves like it or not which one has been Superior
Turk 02 сентября 2018 года в 01:53
Grunge killed faggy hair bands not metal.... Metallica and GNR were the biggest bands in the world during grunge
The Holy Mackerel 11 апреля 2014 года в 19:44 10
The singer is Darren Smith of Harem Scarem and Helix. He's actually a very talented and cool guy.
VH 1984 18 января 2019 года в 01:14
Helix? The Canadian band?

I agree
liselle sloan 16 ноября 2015 года в 00:35 50
Jake, Jake, Jake--There are so many talented singers out there--please get one! This guy can't even hit the notes on a record, when you know he's had studio help. Many of us would like to hear you play at a concert, but not with a singer like this!

I agree. Sadly no one cares. Ray Gillan was a great singer. I think Jake just wants someone he can get along with. And show up.
unclejoe1917 29 августа 2017 года в 00:20
You're so right. This song would be Ozzy level great if this guy could sing.
Austin 11 марта 2015 года в 22:50 19
Jake E. Lee is such a phenomenal guitar player, I feel he is very underrated and doesn't seem to get the recognition he deserves. My opinion though. I just love his guitar playing, and his new stuff doesn't sound like shit and generic like most of the old rock bands trying to crank out new albums.
Eric Müller 22 декабря 2018 года в 23:06
Perfectly said
HurtboxTV 12 августа 2014 года в 17:22 44
how are you people hearing Bark at the Moon? Completely different chords, and key. Unless the picking pattern being similar is all you need. Then that's just sad.

JoshMetal316 JoshMetal316 you are TONE DEAF with a high opinion of your clearly HOLLOW and SOULLESS “musical education”.
You are NOT a musician, just a poser who absorbed theoretical notes.
Even Jake would admit the BATM roots in this song.
You are a moron.

Very reminiscent of his work with Ozzy but love it anyway. Can`t understand everyone bagging the singer. Sounds okay to me.
Roadhouse Sound 21 января 2014 года в 22:12
He had a rough opener at their first show, but I believe he has redeemed himself since then.

The comeback of one of the gratest guitarist of all time Mr jake E Lee Hail to metal.
PHANTOM HIGH 22 января 2014 года в 01:07 3
A touch of BATM in there, good for nostalgia, I'm sure that was the point =D Darren sounds great!
Ace Hunter 23 января 2014 года в 18:01 9
I've listened to this 10 times now. Yes, the main riff is a throwback to BATM, but so what? It fucking rocks.

Ozone Junky 03 февраля 2014 года в 03:37 3
Great song, not sure why the singer's getting slagged so bad. No, he ain't Gillen, but this ain't Badlands. Time to move on!

Shion Francois 22 января 2014 года в 10:36 3
Great to see Jake E Lee back in action.  This album he revisits and gives fans a piece of Ozzy Era, & Badlands which I think is great.  I'm sure he intended it to sound like a Bark At The Moon type song, after all he did write Bark At The Moon as well lol.  Love the album! Was lucky to be in Japan to get it early.  Thanks for coming back Jake! \m/
Shion Francois 25 января 2014 года в 23:41
Yeah, I just ordered mine yesterday lol.  I look forward to listening to the new track as well
Roadhouse Sound 24 января 2014 года в 00:20
Cool, I dug it. It creates a different atmosphere. Understand what you are saying on the vocals though. Can't wait to pick up the Best Buy version. It has a bonus track called American Dream.
Shion Francois 23 января 2014 года в 21:40
+macheted01 it was ok, not my favorite, but I enjoyed the guitar work, but didn't feel the intro chorus fit well.  The vocal style reminded me a lot of something, I just can't put my finger on it....maybe Slash's album? I like the regular version better IMO, but glad to have it on there regardless.  Love Japanese releases with bonus tracks, plus got the Magnet as well from Disc Union.
Roadhouse Sound 23 января 2014 года в 19:34
I have the Japan release as well. How do you like the acoustic version of Feeder?
vomitedshit 22 января 2014 года в 02:16 6
did anyone notice the opening sounds kinda like an 80s ozzy song?
1980'sRare&Unreleased 30 июня 2014 года в 16:52
why do you care so much what people think? i dont agree with them either but im not going to through a tantrum and write a whole book about it...if you dont agree with them why worry about it?
Profit Potato 07 марта 2014 года в 20:33
+1980'sRare&Unreleased Dude, am i seriously the only one who thinks that goindownwitdasheeple's comment is stupid as fuck? It is implying that Jake is not creative enough to make a new song which is complete and utter bullshit and totally misses the other 9 songs as if all Jake did for those years was scratching his own balls, also he comes with that "durr, thirty fucking years, this is just fucking "bark" hurr durr", are you fucking serious? what about the other songs? NOPE because this is just fucking "Bark", what about those riffs in those songs that are just as epic? NOPE, just fucking "Bark". what about deceived being the last song they made for the album? Noooope, Thirty years, oh and "Bark".

There are harmless statements, yes, but his comment is just so fucking stupid it pisses me off and if you don't agree with me being "rude" then that's too bad because i have no patience with stupid
1980'sRare&Unreleased 22 февраля 2014 года в 18:21
+Payaso Volador wow someone makes a harmless statement and you feel you have to call them moron...
vomitedshit 29 января 2014 года в 05:13
+Payaso Volador kind of a rude tone bud
Profit Potato 29 января 2014 года в 03:41
+goindownwitdasheeple That was the point you moron, he said that he wanted to do a similar song to bark at the moon, and that's exactly what he did
Conrad Pienaar 06 февраля 2014 года в 07:28 3
Good old classic hard rock! Executed so well. Glad it's still alive.
RadialJugernot 09 августа 2014 года в 20:55 4
Every one complains about how the other members of the band except Jake look goofy and really don't fit in the band, I got to agree the others do look pretty goofy but they do the job right, the song in my opinion kicks ass I love it.
David Tycer 23 марта 2016 года в 08:48 2
Red Dragon Cartel - Jake did an excellent job bringing these guys on board. Drummer/bass/singer - they all do a great job! Check out Jake @ 2:45 - licks to die for!
TheTaskmaster 22 февраля 2014 года в 04:05 6
just found about this . . best new song i've heard in a couple years!!!
Vincent Ostberg 25 января 2014 года в 06:11 3
This is one rocking song.  I love it.  Jake E. Lee is back!   I hope that the younger generation take notice of what we - his fans since Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin  - know.  Jake was the real star and musical show of force of the Ozzy Osbourne  records and tours.   What could Ozzy and Sharon do?  They fired him and this song says a lot.
Jay Good 21 января 2014 года в 19:24 7
Yea I agree with most of the comments on here lol . Love Jake and always will but the bass player sucks , drummer is kinda boring and the singer is mediocre but I guess their probably wasn't much else out there . Still its great to see Jake getting out there again , its been way to along .
Dylan Hardina 21 января 2014 года в 21:14 4
Really dig it. It's a nice way of Jake bringing a bunch of his techniques into one song. I like the energy from the song.

You all need to remember one thing Jake picked his band......not if your a such a huge Jake fan basically your actually  bashing him and his choices...gotta love modern keyboard warriors, most of them have no balls and don't know how to deal with the real world.....they just hide and bash.....makes you look like a bunch of  f@%kn loosers!!

Great to see Jake back in action! He has always been one of my favorite players. I like that he is what he is and he doesn't try to be anyone else. This band is somewhat of a no win situation. If the songs are reminiscent of his past then people will complain he's stuck in the past and has nothing new to say or he hasn't progressed over time, but if the songs are completely different then people will say he's not the same player they remember and wish he sounded more like his old stuff. I'm not totally sold on this singer, but I'm going to give it a chance and see where it goes from here. I plan to see him here in OKC on this tour. Welcome back Jake! Rock on!

Rick Roll'd 21 января 2014 года в 17:54 2
Good hook in the tune! Bassist, Ronnie Mancuso, needs to move a little more and show some rock n roll emotion, IMO. It's a rock band, not an orchestra.

Great to see Jake E lee Back! This Band is a breath of fresh air as there has been nothing that great in Heavy Rock for a while now.

One of the best tunes from an 80's rocker to come out in modern days indeed. Jake E Lee never disappoints! Compared to say Poison etc. who come out with these new tunes and they suck sooo bad compared to the original material.
Bobby bones 07 сентября 2014 года в 12:39 3
just discovered this.  Was a huge Jake fan back in the day.  Haven't listened to any new music in about 20 years but damn this is catching my ear.  very nostalgic 80s Jake sound.  Not sure I hear any of his Ozzy stuff but sounds simple yet powerful.
lubbocktx35 17 октября 2014 года в 04:12
I agree I don't hear the Ozzy stuff on here either but I always preferred Jake solo anyway. I love all the Badlands music he made and hope to hear some of it when he tours with this band.

cool!!! and fabulous riff and chorus!!!
TJPenitencia 08 января 2015 года в 16:13 2
OK, so there are some similarities to "Bark At The Moon", but so what?  Is it a crime for a guitarist/songwriter to sound like himself every once in a while?  This is a really good song--high energy, uplifting, dynamic it its arrangement, and of course well executed.  Nice job, Jake!
Rock Roller 24 апреля 2015 года в 14:36 2
The only thing cool about this video is jake
Ian Wood Cycling 07 марта 2014 года в 09:17 22
Singer is great! Don't know why people slag him off. Wonder if Jake ripped off his own riff (Bark At The Moon) on purpose :-) (?) Is it my imagination though, or is the guitar a bit out of tune during the 2nd half of the solo?
Tony Powell 22 июля 2017 года в 12:44
Bhaskar Yadav Did someone piss on your cheerios this morning? Take a chill pill man....we all have different opinions about guitar solos.
Bhaskar Yadav 22 июля 2017 года в 08:17

Tony Powell 19 июля 2017 года в 12:18
TheBoondoggler I'm with you there. For me the guitar solo ruined the song. I do love Jake but he just sounds past his sell by date.

TheBoondoggler it's the best solo I have seen and heard anyone play in recent times.. opinions
TheBoondoggler 11 февраля 2017 года в 18:17
I agree I love Jake's riffs but that solo is a turd
Jimmy Rockwell 23 января 2014 года в 03:06 1
There are some here who feel that Jake should sound completely different than he did before. I don't know what hole they crawled out of, but if Jimmy Page, Slash, Eric Clapton, or Jeff Beck came out with an album that was a complete departure from their previous style who would pay attention? Not only does he sound like himself, he assembled a group of musicians that do a great job of helping him bring that sound forward. Nice work boys-keep on kickin ass!

Ya gotta Love JAKE!!!!
He’s DEFINITELY RnR Royalty—Especially for those of us grew up listening to Good’Ole Heavy Blues Based ROCK n ROLL☠️✊🏼☠️
Even tough Jake will be the 1st one to tell us that his playing isn’t nearly what it used to be—He still decided to step-up & take a chance on HIMSELF AGAIN!!!

jake e lee has and will always be one of the best.( to me he is).
the singer is different and pre chorus is a rip off  from ozzy.
jake wrote all the bark at the moon stuff and didn't get the credit he deserves.
so if it sounds like a bark at the moon riff good for him.
i think he could have put togther a much better band  but i love to see him at it again.great solo jake e lee...

I am not quite sure why some think this vocalist sucks... I think he sounds really good and fits the style and the song.  But... I have always preferred the singers that have a uniqueness over perfection.  It is rock and roll... character in the voice is more important than perfection.  I still rank Stephen Pearcy as one of my favorite vocalists of all time... and he can be ROUGH.  It is what it is.

This does not sound like Bark at the moon. Bark at the moon sounds like Jake E. Lee. As awesome as he is, I hear his style in all of his music, BATM happens to be one of the most prominent ones. It's his style, and happens to be very unique, and I for one , am glad he is staying true to himself, in his new band.  Sounds old and new at the same time. Very solid debut.

Don't care for the singing, but Jake more than makes up for it! Soulful, creative guitar shed that sounds like no one else. . . Great job Jake. Thx for giving us great music that's timeless.

Chorus is really good....guitar solo is awesome.  The way he phrases the vibrato is awesome and also the slow bends on the unison bends are so creamy cool.

GREAT song. Excellent vocals. Smoking guitar riff. Right outta the park boyz! That's the sound we got hooked on and it pays homage to the biggest era of rock guitar!

Singers need to be replaced asap. everything else is golden.
Bill Kinkead 31 января 2014 года в 06:27 1
Is that an old Soldano next to Jake's EVH amp? Looks almost like a solid state Randall that Lynch used in early 80s.
