Tyler Burke if you watch their other animated music videos with the robot, they all tie into each other. At the end of this one I think you can hear the beginning of death of the robot with human hair playing in the background, which I believe is actually the first animated video in the series. So I think this one takes place before that video

+Ty Brown I think there might still one more robot music video. I don't think it's "Definitely the last one because it closed the loop". While there's absolutely nothing between this and Death, I think there's probably either something between Stroke God and Young Robot or between Death and Inspire the Liars that connects them.

+Ty Brown One thing that seems off is the size of the DNA battery versus the one he gave the robot at the beginning of Young Robot.
Another piece yet explained is God's(Will) involvement as he was shown briefly and Young Robot, making me think the duck went straight from the end of Stroke God to Young Robot.
Maybe the bigger battery from the monster is possibly going to the super version of the robot and break his cycle?

Yes and no. This is in the order that the music videos launched, meaning when they were meant to be seen. Death can technically be first and last. Also, it seems Skull Duck is going after the same robot in an infinite loop at this point. The DNA vial he took from the monster on Son is likely just going to go right back into Young Robot, so Skull Duck is going to repeat Young and Son over and over, Robot will die over and over. You're just seeing Robot die in the beginning wondering how it got to that point, which Stroke God Millionaire, Young and Son of Robot all answer. DGD's next album might have a music video about Skull Duck just like Millionaire, just speculation. lol

The story thus far:
We rejoin The Robot with the Human Hair, his girlfriend and the Duck-Pirate from Stroke God Millionaire as they are making their way out of Thug City, when all of a sudden TRWTHH falls asleep behind the wheel and is sent flying through a Rick and Morty-esque wormhole teleporting the group into a temporal stream where TRWTHH meets the Rower from Happiness and is dropped off on the shores at the base of the Artificial Selection Tree on the outskirts of Thug City. As he exits the temporal stream, we see that he has lost his hip, cool afro in exchange for the hair he has in Death of the Robot With the Human Hair. Inside the Artificial Selection Tree we see Robo-Jon Mess entering another wormhole to be put into a stasis pod for what I can only assume is a holding cell so that the Artificial Selection Tree can use him for energy later like in the Matrix. We next see TRWTHH captured and brought to the Consumption Chamber of the Artificial Selection Tree where he is then confronted by his mortal enemy, the Dog with the Robotic Eye. In order to exact revenge on his enemy DWTRE steals the Robot's hair and combines its DNA with the Dog's missing eye to create a deadly cyborg that will destroy him once and for all. However, in an unpredictable turn of events, Cyborg Dog turns on DWTRE and consumes both him and TRWTHH. As they are stuck, helpless to amend the situation, Duck-Pirate uses his Time-staff to rescue them from the robot's belly. This leads to a climactic battle between Duck-Pirate and Cyborg Dog which leads to another teleportation shift causing Duck Pirate to be trapped in an Ice Cave much like Luke Skywalker in Empire Strikes Back. But using his DGD force-powers he manages to retrieve his time-staff and cause another teleportation shift that sends the group through several DGD music video scenarios as they do battle. The battle is won by Duck-Pirate when he finally incapacitates Cyborg Dog and steals the DNA Helix chamber stored in his chest, returning it to TRWTHH and teleports away from the scene leaving TRWTHH and his girlfriend in the middle of an explosion caused by the Tank that defeated Duck-Pirate in Stroke God Millionaire leaving TRWTHH, his Girlfriend and the DWTRE flying out of the collapsing Artificial Selection Tree. While TRWTHH and the DWTRE both manage to survive, sadly the Girlfriend does not. While TRWTHH is seen clutching his girlfriend's arm, he is then suddenly dragged away by DWTRE toward what can be presumed are the events for Death of the Robot with the Human Hair.

Also I noticed the first and longest real video is the one where Jon Mess is a robot, right after we see him implanted with a machine in his neck in the animation, which lines up ironically with the wires in his neck in the real video, just tossing that around in my head makes it hurt

Did anyone else start crying when the girl robot was torn in half and the guy robot was crying? I am very invested in this band. They literally just keep getting better. When I didn’t think they could top every album, they do. Instant Gratification wasn’t even on my radar & I play “Death of a Strawberry” instantly rekindled my love for Dgd.

So what I'm getting from this is that due to time travel from "Stroke, God Millionaire", "Young Robot" is the new origin, whereas this song is the events in immediately in between "Young Robot" and "Death of the Robot With Human Hair", which are apparently much closer together in the timeline than I originally thought.

Okay so I know Death of the robot with human hair plays at the end. But how long has he been out? If you look at the city in the background. It looks brighter and more prosperous than the city wee see in Death of a robot with human hair. Plus when Robot wakes up and sees all the ads after being knocked out for god knows how long he’s surprised at the changes. How long was he out for that all that changed happened? A year? More?

This video helped restore my stigma about this song. This song came out right when I found out some devestating news about some stuff my now-ex was doing behind my back, so as much as I love this song and think its one of the strongest songs ever written, it's just had that stigma behind it that kept me from wanting to revisit it. Now with this music video (the best DGD music video by far), I now have new stigma to associate it with.

am I the only one that noticed that robot still had his afro before falling in the water in the beginning? his long hair appeared after he landed in the boat with the guy from the happiness album, could the water be magic? :O 😂
