the whole DPP album was already written long before NW knew who'd be singing it! So all the songs including "Sahara" were NOT written for Anette. Only the Imaginaerum album. But even these songs she didn't perform well live, see Song of myself and others where she often skipped whole parts of the songs or altered the melody off key....

+George Maines Anette wasn't given a fair shake by many fans, and I'll admit that when I first started watching videos of her I wasn't impressed. But that has much more to do with the quality of many of the videos that are easily "scooped" from net. After a much more intensive search of her performances I had to change my mind, she has a very pleasant voice and emotive quality. I'm very glad that I did not dismiss her out of hand, she has been well worth the effort.

DPP and Imaginarium are fantastic albums and real masterpieces of Tuomas,but Floor sings all those song much, much better.
I actually like Anette,but Floor is the beast that you must love.She have everything that metal singer must have,amazing and powerful voice,fantastic stage presence ,she is very constant at singing and her's voice do not break like Anette's in live performances.
Floor have another quality and that is that she is better live than in studio,because in studio they polish sound and make it even,and by my opinion ,to flat.

Love this song ! I think Anette sings it well, but better, of course on the album. Anette has a great voice. All three female vocalists have great voices. But Floor is still the best for NW. Her voice, her stage presence, the way she dresses, everything about her seems to fit the lead vocalist for a band like Nightwish...and Nightwish is the Best !

I follow Nightwish since the begin, huge fan, and my choice is defintively Anette, how could she be so underestimated. She was phenomenal even in concert, in Brussels.
Never forget her situation when she started, almost unknown and take place of Tarja.
Before this was Tarja show, after it was a real balanced show with Marco finding a better place in the set with Anette.
But the real genius stays Tuomas, he just did the perfect songs regarding Anette abilities

FYI they didn't fire Anette, the parting ways is mutual to both Anette's party and the guys. At least, this issue doesn't have any open letter like the way they did to Tarja due to her attitude.
