If the lead singer of a monstrous, legendary rock band called Led Zeppelin comes to pay tribute by singing one of your songs, then you've made an indelible mark in rock music. You'll never be forgotten, Mr. Mercury!

And "Legends NEVER die"

Why is everyone arguing? Obviously this is a Queen song so OBVIOUSLY the best version is with Mercury. If Mercury ever performed a Led Zeppelin song, it’s would not be NEAR as good as Plant singing it himself. What An amazing performance by Plant here!

+Brazilian Atlantis There is only one King and that's Elvis and was and still is 41 Year's later still the most Famous Singer Hell Actor, Entertainer to ever Walk the Stage or Sing. Elvis was the Greatest Singer of All Time who could Singer any and everything from Rock to Country, Blues, Gospel, Pop, Ballads and so much more. And Robert Plant was so amazed at Elvis cuz Plant blew out his voice in the Mid to late 1970s and Elvis really is the only one you can see fir over 20 plus Year's from a Teenager to 42 Year's old that you see someone who never had a Voice lesson yet his Voice matured Year after Year which you can hear it in his Music and as Singer's get older and start to lose Power and things become weaker Elvis was the opposite as he went the other way he started to get Deeper and Stronger and even his Range got better where he was reaching Opera levels towards the end of his life I mean even sick in his last Concerts 6 Weeks before his Death his Voice was out of this World it's incredible as you get older you start to lose Power and Range yet Elvis was hitting Notes Higher than ever. It makes it so Sad it sucks to think Man what Elvis would if done and Recorded had he not died that horrible day in 1977. And I can only imagine what kind of music Elvis would have been recording and doing in the 1980s and 1990s till today. Hell I wonder and bet he and Freddie Mercury would of did a duet which the Duets be and huge in the 1980s. Cuz I'm pretty sure he would of got himself some Help like he did before lost the Whole he put on cuz he had done it before. Everytime Elvis had a new task in front of him he would of attacked it and he would of did it. He was gonna take a Year off after that Concert he never did but if he would of did A Star Is Born which he said yes too but that POS Col Tom Parker said No and asked for things he knew they couldn't meet which they had to day No too it and I bet Elvis had No idea why and just thought they didn't want him but that could have saved him. But as for a Voice and Singing wise, stage Presence and I have to put Freddie at #2 but Elvis had nobody before him. Elvis was the Blue print he made up the Blue Print to be a Rock Star and Movie Star there was nobody as Big a Star as Elvis and that's the luck that Plant and Freddie, Michael Jackson who tried to do everything like Elvis like he was obsessed with be the next Elvis and a lot of People are seeing it now in these reaction Videos seeing Elvis Dancing and he had mad skill and you see Elvis do a lot of footwork like jumping up on the front of his toes which MJ does and thru day he came up with it and you can see Elvis was doing them moves way back in the 1950s and MJ just took it and worked on it till he added more and just like Music how Elvis made music that sounded whatever and than made it sound like this New thing they called Rock and Roll to which he put on the Map. And he Karate Kicked the Doors open for the Black Singer's to be able to be heard on the radio and seen in TV and his friends James Brown, Chuck Berry, Sammy Davis jr and so many Black Performer's have stated it that Elvis was The KING and the vessel a pioneer to help get black Artist's and there Music accepted and be given a chance. Cuz you have so many Jackass's who even still today who don't do or know any research on it but try to day Elvis stole Black People's Music which is just so funny cuz it's dumb ass idiots who don't know the History of anything it the best try to say Elvis was racist which was proving years ago as Bull cuz you got some jealous Piece of crap said Elvis said back in the 50s the only thing black People can do for me is shine my Shoes. Now of course this was all said after 1977 in the 1980s after Elvis Died I guess cus of Fear cuz you don't day that while the Man was Alive cuz Elvis would if went after your ass and with his temper and 8th Degree Black Belt he would F$$K you up if he didn't put a bullet in you. It's easy to talk shit about someone when there Dead cuz Dead Men can't tell No tales, Dead Men can't defend themselves yet who cane to his defense all his friends and band members and those who knew him but most if all the Band mates and his Cook's and housekeepers and Graceland landscaper. They flipped out saying how dare this person day this fake shit as Elvis never saw Color as his housekeepers and Cook's we're all black and along with everyone else he bought them all Houses and cars and gave them Christmas Bonuses was crazy amounts of money and Jewelry and his Cook he hired her Husband as the landscaper of Graceland so they could be together all they and even when there kids got older they worked there and loved them like Family and told them they would always be taking care if and have Job's here as long as they wanted. And I don't know if he put it in his will or told his Father but even after Elvis died in 1977 Graceland kept all the Cook's and housekeepers and her husband the landscaper of Graceland on as works until there retirement in the 2000s and some in the Mid 1990s. And the 3 Black girls his back up Singer's which in the beginning Whitney Houston Mother Cissy Houston was one of his back up Singer's. And one of tells a story when Elvis did a huge show in Texas at the Astrodome the Concert Promoters and People in Texas when Elvis landed he saw that the Girl's had been crying and they we're kind if new and this is when he started going back to touring and like she says he was paying us ridiculous amounts of Money. Our Paychecks were unbelievable it was First class all the way private planes and everything and made them feel special. And she found out cuz Elvis was so angry that this shit still existed and was going on cuz he was told before the Show that he could leave the Black Girl's at the Hotel or send them back Home. Well they said the wrong thing as Elvis flipped and said with Swears that those Girl's we're his Girl's and they were apart of his Band and they were to be treated with respect and giving First Class treatment on all areas and talked to with respect and treated and talked to the way your talking to me cuz I don't do my Shows without them. And if they don't like it they can stick it up their ass cuz if his Girl's go Home he goes Home too. And it was all Sold Out shows your talking over 80,000+ People. And she said they flipped there script real quick and started calling ma'am and we were treated like Queens and we knew Elvis didn't have to do this cuz it could of Cost him Millions of Dollars in that Show which I think was a 3 Concert Gig and it was the one and only time he did it so who knows if it did but Elvis said nobody is gonna treat his Girl's or talk to them and be disrespectful. But she said we never had a problem again with any Concerts venues.

+Kalp Kumud Kumar <-----his comment is my comment...anyone who compares these two bands that would downplay Led Zeppelin is ignorant. Just don't compare. Both are the greatest of the great. However, even Queen would acknowledge that Led Zep is the godfather.

Right, but the Robert Plant haters are just that, haters! They wouldn’t know “Rock Legend” if it kicked them in the face. The RP haters are still in Jr high. Babies can have Social Media accounts now. Long live Freddie and long live RP. Two deserving Rock legends!
OneTakeOmi _ 20 ноября 2018 года в 15:07
Robert better than freddie xD hahahahha what a joke. Freddie is a power house. And is very versatile. He didn't only bring an entirely new sort of music in the rock history, but also brought a revolution in the opera world!! Montserrat said it herself. As this video begun , a thought came across my mind. And it was, that never in a million years the three other Queens would ever trade plant for freddie. As much as I love Led Zeppelin songs, I wouldn't enjoy playing alongside that voice all my life, if i were one of the queens.

You know what would've been awesome if Jimmy Page would have came out and him and May just did a epic guitar solo
Bill j 13 декабря 2018 года в 18:13
I don't agree with Mia. Too many of these tribute shows have way too many musicians on the stage. I saw one once, I think it was a tribute to George Harrison. They had like 8 superstar lead guitarists, and 3 or 4 drummers. Complete overkill. At some point you have to put the quality of the music into consideration, and not just the number of stars onstage.
Ricca Shaps 12 декабря 2018 года в 11:51
It will probably add to my jealousy of not being part of this event if that happened. This is already mind-blowing enough.

Quit the comparison!! Plant is paying homage to Freddie Mercury. He's not trying to outdo a legacy Freddie left behind. Get a clue!!

I actually feel really bad for John Deacon. I did not see him smile once in his video because I think he missed Freddie so much. I would too and I think Freddie Mercury was a great singer. Poor John ; (

Yeah, Deacon and Mercury had like a great relationship and it was actually both of their ideas to have Queen go from classic rock to more dance type stuff.

No one commanded a stage like Freddy but Robert never TRIED to! Unlike Freddy (who was clearly inspired by Robert) or Mick or Rod Stewart
He wasn't that kind of frontman! He let the audience build up by itself & he just fed off it & fueled it! & it works for him!
swordnquilstarskgrem 10 марта 2017 года в 20:21 42
My favorite part of this is after Plant sings "because" and Brian starts the beginning strums of Crazy Little Thing Called Love, and the crowd breaks into applause, watch Roger's face. It absolutely LIGHTS UP in this ear splitting teeth showing grin. I love it every time I watch it.

You did not see Led Zeppelin 23 times- 9 in the US, 8 in UK, 4 in Germany, and 2 in Holland. SAW Queen twice in UK and both groups were fantastic! However, I would take LZ ANY DAY AND EACH TIME THE Audience was more motivated than Queen! I would guess that you weighed your opinion more on Freddie Mercury who was brilliant, but with him and May did not come close to all 4 of the superstars in LED ZEP.

Sorry it happened due to the death of the great Freddie Mercury, but I'm sure his spirit was rockin' right alongside them all night! gotiggy1 14 марта 2016 года в 06:52 20
It's actually very eye-opening at what freddie did when you watch plant sing crazy little thing, who is a natural tenor. It's so easy to knock down some of freddie's live vocals when he had to arrange them down an octave, but many people forget he was a natural baritone singing in a tenor range. This recording in particular really highlights that because freddie sang this tune with great ease while robert plant, although truly one of the greatest, struggled a bit in those lower register notes.
βud Small 12 августа 2018 года в 05:32

That's because we are use to hear It with Freddie's Voice. Besides their Vocal Ranges are very Different, just Imagine Freddie singing "Stairway To Heaven" or "Whole Lotta Love", that would have been awesome But it would't be the Same without Robert Plant's Mystical Voice in It, it's the Same thing.

Robert plant is an amazing singer but unfortunately he couldn't come even close to freddies voice not because he was bad but because of the vocal range and that mysterious thing that freddies voice had that made it so unique after that you see that even he admits that he cant sing like him so now we know that nobody will ever be as good as freddie and nobody will ever sing like him and everyone knows that

The voice of Roberts' that Freddie was so inspired by i fear is not the one we're hearing here. At this point it's about 20 years too late. It's as if any range at all is uncomfortable for Robert at this point. The low range stuff is airy and he's missing timbre because it's too far down, yet the high stuff makes him raspy and feels too high for him. It's almost as if Roberts' only ideal notes fall within less than a single octave here... which is insane considering who he is.
