He never came out or told about his AIDS diagnosis because he didn’t want a media circus following him 24/7.. in reality it happened anyway.. regardless the mans a fucking legend, if it was one of these talentless twats today they’d come out looking for sympathy left right and centre.. what did Freddie do? He accepted it, tried to fight it in secret with experimental medication and continued to make music so his legacy would last forever

I’m 45 now and have known Queen since I was little. I was 18, working the graveyard shift at a fuel station, at around 6am I got the news of Freddie’s death over the radio, then they played Bo Rhap. I will never forget. I saw a documentary 2yrs ago on Freddie, I did not know him on an intimate level prior to that. I’ve had the Greatest Hits CD for yrs. The movie was great. The songs; Another One Bites the Dust, We are the Champions, We will Rock You were heavily imprinted on me, but I dont know how Queen escaped by me during my later teens. Seems I got into MJ, Wham,the hairbands and Ozzy. ?? I do wonder if America’s banning of Queen had something to do with it. I watched MTV quite a bit in the late 80s too. ??
If Queen hadn’t made the movie, idk if I would have discovered albums I never knew existed. I think it has been great for all generations.

I have had many surgeries in the last ten years. I'm a huge Queen fan, having seen Freddie and the guys live in Australia in 1976 when they were arguably at their early best. I was literally twenty feet away from the stage in a small Hall (only 5000 seats!) and it was a concert I'll never forget, he was amazing, magic in a bottle stuff. Anyway come forward thirty year and One of the surgeries I had to have was a really major spinal surgery performed through the front of the stomach..BIG 9.5hr operation.
When I got into the theatre there were two teams of doctors and about about a dozen other specialists and nurses all about to operate various machines and one that would take blood out of me, refine it and put it back. They had music playing in the theatre and it was very cool to see them all upbeat and talking to me, calming me down, I said 'it's great you have music on, have you got any Queen?' ' Yes! ', they all said excitedly, what do your u want to listen to as you are put to sleep.?
I said, "play Who wants to Live Forever , I think I'd like to hear Freddie's voice as I go under and if it's the last thing I ever hear then I'm OK with that!" they all broke out in applause, and when I woke up in recovery they had Queen playing 'dont stop me now'. Obviously everything went well as I'm still here ten years later! :-P. I listen to a Queen song most days, if not everyday. Freddie was so unique.

This man was not only a great singer but all four band mates music was so powerful, influencing kids, parents and artists alike. Queens music was not just generic music like today. They spanned through all genres of music and was so friggen successful because of it. I thank my mom for introducing me to this wonderful band. I'm only 13 and I love this guy. I've listened to everything from Live Bluegrass all the way to Opera/Classical. Music moves and stirs the soul, and without movement, the soul stagnates and dies. I flat out *knew* what they were doing there, and I still couldn't help myself. I gave myself big mascara raccoon eyes, crying from this song, until near the end. And I had to leave when they started playing "The Show Must Go On" during the end credits, because that song would've killed me.

I watched queen Xmas night at Wembley wasn't a big fan until I watched him what a unbelievable performer I was absolutely blown away what a legend he was one of a kind you don't get singers like that anywhere and you never will RIP you may be gone but your legacy will live on and you definitely will never be forgotten xxx

Every time I hear this song I can’t help but tear up Freddie was such a free spirit who didn’t care what everyone else said about him not the press or anyone else I was born in a generation were queen wasn’t really a big thing anymore we’re Freddie Mercury had already died 15 prior and John decon has left the band what I would give to be born in a generation were Freddie was alive and queen was still coming out with music 😢but like Freddie said you can’t turn back the clock you can’t turn back the time .if you read this leave a line or a comment it would really mean a lot let’s keep Freddie’s memory living forever ❤️
