October 21st 2005 is a historic date for every NIGHTWISH fan – many tears flowed, yet the foundation was laid for a new beginning and the ongoing continuity of the band. What subsequently appeared as the DVD titled End Of An Era was not only the final show of their mega-selling "Once" tour, but also the very last joint performance with their singer Tarja Turunen. Due to all of these facets and more, the DVD will give you goose bumps many times over, yet it crowns the end of the Tarja chapter with a unique show that could hardly have been better or more spectacular. The setlist is stunning and contains 18 hymns, such as the opening "Dark Chest Of Wonders," "Sleeping Sun," "Nemo" and "Bless The Child" through to the final "Wish I Had An Angel". If you do not already own this live masterpiece, you can now look forward to the extensive new edition.

On December 7th, End Of An Era will be re-released as 3LP and Earbook formats including BluRay, 2CD and 3LP.

I do respect the three singers and love Nightwish no matter what, but Tarja and Nightwish was the perfect combination: her operatic vocals with the unique compositions of Tuomas is something that can't be matched. So epic, I miss this Nightwish.

Hmmmm. Yesterday I watched Loudwire's Fact or Fiction with Tarja, there were plenty of questions regarding her days in Nightwish and she answered all of them in a very nice, calm way, even talked about Tuomas a bit. Now I see this video being uploaded as an official live, even though it's from End of an Era show which was Tarja's last one, 13 years ago. Can't help but wonder is there something going on...

The music of Tuomas and the voice of Tarja was a unique symbiosis. It’s a pity that it was all over... And this was 13 years ago... I am also excited to see the Decade DVD with Floor .

Nice throwback to the times that will never return. Before youtube and fast internet. In 1998/99/00 Nightwish tapes were passed from hand to hand until they became a very well known names. Nowadays it's different. You put your song on youtube, good promotion and you gain hundreds of thousands of listeners.
I hope everyone will listen to the Demo from 1996, to realizes how the band came to be, when they were only teens. With only Empu, Tuomas and Tarja, whose voice inspired everything.

Ehhhhhhhhhh I think its more likely they'd be able to partially mend things with Anette. I don't know. She posts some Nightwish content every now and then on her Instagram.
As far as I've heard, the band and tarja are back talking for the most part.
Tarja had Marco and Floor on during her Christmas concerts last winter. (And as we know she and floor are also good friends and have been many years. Floor has Tarja's blessing to take Nightwish's vocal reins.)
and she has been in touch only a little with tuomas via email but from the tone of that interview i think Tarja misses his friendship. Anything is possible

I just started following Nightwish around this time and was so disappointed to find out that Tarja was "moving on"... Annette and Floor each are excellent in their own right, but Tarja IS the vocal component to Nightwish (IMHO). I do love the duets / trios that the ladies do together occasionally, so it's the best of all worlds!

You can really see how far they've come as a band, I think the more recent live recordings of this song have so much more life (due to Floor's more powerful voice and the great addition of Troy's pipes). No disrespect to those who prefer "old" Nightwish, but for me, it's no contest.

+MADOWS Well, albums and DVDs have a lot of editing and improvement, that's why the only way to really tell if a person is a good singer is going to the show or find online videos recording by fans. I saw Tarja live and she really blew my mind, but I do believe Floor is good, but I haven't seen her live yet

Say what you want to, but to me Tarja stopped sounding good after Wishmaster. Here she downright sounds like a wailing old witch. Compare to her live performances in the Oceanborn era, her operatics definitely took a turned for the worse.

They are re-releasing End of Era in bluray, earbook and vynils format after all. It's a good thing because it means that Tarja also was agreed to once again, they use her image with the band. Sounds like everything is in peace rn or ink
