I'm surprised this is still a question. Its because the lead singer inhale screams instead of exhales. I actually remember discovering this band back in the day where i was all into metal. In fact, thats why i didn't listen to them for a while -- but i loved their instrumentals. Now that i'm older i enjoy them a lot more. However, that was literally the reason why all these videos have dislikes and the summary of all the stuff the fandoms shit on them for.

The reason the 2000's had all the great deathcore was simply because it emerged from it's early stages of shit production quality and manifested into the golden age where deathcore was still new yet more refined. It was still relatively new to people during the 2000's that's why it was so exciting and dark. It explored a part of death metal and hardcore never been explored before. It was fresh and new at the time.
And I have no idea what you're talking about but there are plenty of great deathcore bands out there. And the production quality of deathcore in the modern day an age are superb. I think you're just bored of deathcore or maybe it was a phase for you.

Not everybody argues about genres to be elitist-some ppl would like to know exactly where to look if they were to go buy the album. You sure as hell wouldn't find it in the pop section, so cut some slack ppl-haven't you ever been frustrated trying to find something that has been mislabeled in a music store? I used to hate having to go through practically every tape in every genre bcuz there weren't any sub-genres. Knowing what it's classified under makes it way easier to find! (Although I never buy them anymore bcuz I don't have a CD or tape player, other ppl still do!) And even if you don't like it, knowing what sub-genre it is helps you stay away from what you dislike. Matter of perception I guess!

It probably depends on how specific your music store is. The only music stores I've seen where I live put metal under rock. They even put Imagine Dragons in the same category as Disturbed. :(

Well actually you'd find something like this in the "rock-pop" section at the place I go to to get my music, but it also says -metal on the label too. They need to give metal it's own section there too lol, I don't want to find a justin bieber cd in the whitechapel section cx
