Stop to think how it would be if Tarja sing 7 Days To The Wolves or Scaretale. Of course it would sound horrible. The songs of the season Tarja were made for the type of Tarja's voice, as well as the time of Anette.

Well that's why she shouldn't try singing those songs. Anette had a different training and different range. Tarja said that some of the songs Tuomas wrote were difficult even for her. Imagine for Anette..

She is good. Slayer the dreamer isn't exactly her song...but still she is ok. Anette was really good in 2009 gigs with song like walking in the air, higher than hope, romanticide etc but the band choose to buried these perfomances and the awesome 2009 Hartwall show.

Duncan Buchanan huh I wonder where Anette did this song well in your opinion? She walks off the stage in the last third of the song, leaving the rest of the band to Marco and the playback. Really, Tarja and Floor are the only ones who can sing this song. And Marco who saved them in this performance. Don't you see the disappointment in Tuomas face at the end?

Floor is singing this now on the US tour. She is tearing through it. I thought she would. I still admire Anette. This is one of those Nightwish songs where all three lady singers do it really well. Marco does his usual excellent supporting role. yes Tarja, Floor and Anette sound slightly different, obviously. But still a great song.

Anette absolutely ruined the song. This definitely wasn't for her, it was a huge mistake from the band to hire someone who is NOT able to sing any of the songs from the past. Just listen to the vocals, it sounds like an amateur cover from a bad singer.

this isn't as horrible as the comments made it sound. sure the high notes are strained as he'll and no it's not the best, but she actually hit them for a change. I've seen other videos where she completely fails at hitting a note so this wasn't really bad. and actually I liked that little "don't lead me a stray-hey-yay-yay-ee-yeah!" I know "it's pop shit!" idc I liked it lol

If anyone has seen Floor sing the Poet and the Pedulum at Wembley in Vehicle of Spirit, then you will understand what she could do with this song…easily! But then Floor Jansen can sing anything from Nighwish she likes.

it is inappropriate for her to sing what TARJA had sing...she cant compete a voice like tarja's..i think nightwish cant be the ones were once..tuomas is the soul,but tarja was the heart..this girl on video..changes everything we knew that nighwish were..i hope one day tarja with nightwish become one,once again..she and the band are like soulmates...

That's bologna. She's a different voice with a different quality. Yes Tarja is a Soprano and had opera training. Where as Annette is a mezzo that sons very well.
That does not mean she shouldn't sing any old nightwish.
For her experience she is actually doing well.
Plus they have Floor now who puts them both to shame.
And it's a shame floor had not sung this one yet

Ya she may fall short on this but come on. Anette is AMAZING in Amaranth. And storytime is epic. Not to mention Rest calm. She isn't great at everything but what she can do she does amazingly.

Hola, voy a compartir mi humilde opinión; creo que el problema no es Anette ni su voz, mas bien, a mi parecer el problema es que la voz de ella como que no es adecuada para el género de la banda, ni mucho menos para las canciones que cantaba Tarja... imagínate tú a Tarja cantando Amaranth, pues.. no se oiría mal pero sabemos que no es lo mas adecuado... La única que puede con el estilo de Tarja y Anette y aparte su estilo original; es Floor, por eso la amo hahaha

I'm impressed by her ability to belt this song. She has quite the range with it. Belting is a challenge for me, of course, every singer is different.

Because she is a great singer. But she is really different from Tarja and can't sung the same songs, that's all. She was extraordinary in Dark Passion Play and Imaginearum. Tarja and Anette are two awesome singers, but in a different way.

I really love her very much , and NW new songs with her are GREAT , but .. She just wasn`t good enough for old songs :((( Floor is of course better for those , but cant qute sing Anett songs ... Tarja was the best for NW , but I guess if she really was, boys would let her stay ! So.. Im with the boys in this one . They are still great musicians and Love them ! <3

Aside from many other examples, this one right here can be considered a deal breaker when it came to Anette's range. You can't have a classical, almost soprano type voice, and downgrade to just a normal voice. Songs are going to be hurt because of it. Now, Floor for example doesn't have the range that Tarja does, but she sure as hell gives a run for the money. Still curious as to how Floor will sing this song and Kinslayer
