When i bought this album................... I was ................... so........................... fucking......................... HAPPY probably the best album i have ever bought to be honest i have this CD in my car at all times incase i dont have my ipod to hook up i listen to the whole album repeatedly, except for one song thats because i live in america and it sounds arabic and people look at me like im a terrorist i think its scorched earth...?

Also may I add I harbour no real ill will towards the past. It's futile since it has been done and cannot be altered now. Anyway my country was one of the few Celtic nations the Romans never conquered. They tried but ultimately failed.

I always thought it was funny that many people believe the Romans spread culture when in fact the opposite is true. They raped and pillaged cultures of all kinds as far as they could go. They stole most of their religion and technology from the Greeks and everything else from the so called "Barbarians" they conquered. The ancient Celtic peoples (Gauls etc) were way ahead of their time culturally speaking. I mean they were somewhat brutal but they basically invented the idea of human rights.

Well, as an Italian you have to be on the side of the Romans, I guess. As I said, I'm one of the Helvetios and as such I see the Roman achievements with more scepticism.

I've read it in latin...not so bad, and very helpful to those who, like me, love both Roman, both Celtic culture. Here I see people saying "Fuck Roman empire" or "I Love C.J.Caesar" but without any historic culture behind theire words. I'm glad to be italian and really know my history and culture...

She sounds like a Catholic...idolizing a dogmatic civilization that forcefully took over every culture it could to reshape and rape those cultures' cultures and beliefs into a pale travesty of their former glory to suit Rome's image...look at what they did to Greek mythology (which was essentially monotheism in polytheistic interpretation), they completely distorted and renamed the whole fucking pantheon. Don't even get me started on the literature and folklore they stole and raped.

I have the same Endless Knot symbol emblazoned brazenly upon this album's cover as a pendant overtop of Christ on the rosary I wear. It's funny; people see Greek, Celtic and other polytheistic religions as contradictions of Christianity, when in reality, they're both just different names for the same eternal design--peace out of a lack of fear and arrogance. 'Course, the fucking Catholic church and all their dogmatic bullshit overlooks that and claim it's all "devilry". Fearful hypocrites.

Very old? Bloodstained Ground is from Slania, which is the first album where they started to lose their ancient, raw sound. It's not old... spirit and ven aren't even really old, but they are more of the 'old sound'.

i like the way they've made this video. clearly, metal bands generally dont have the funds to make multiple song videos for a single album, but what nuclear blast has done here is really nice.
lyrics, interesting pictures, some advertising. nice job.
i personally don't dig this song, but "a rose for epona" was wonderful. i love the way they take a traditional tune and "metal" it. they did a great job with isara in the prev album too!

@Kilgorin10 Understandably you may not like it, but you should probably listen to the whole thing before dismissing it.
There is actually a mix of the classic Eluveitie aggression, their beautiful folk melodies and there's a couple of more easily digestible songs. And following the lore and history that it's concerning is awesome.
There's also the interesting directions Chrigel tried to take his voice... on a song called The Seige he basically goes into a death fry - which is superb.

@MikyWrita Spirit's pretty good, Slania had its moments, the last album wasn't very good and this one seems to be looking worse. It's just frustrating to me for a band with talent to throw it away with easy to digest nonsense. But I agree, listen to whatever you like. I've no issue with anyone that likes this.

@MikyWrita The guitarists have just become so needlessly boring. The constant chugging is beyond annoying and they never play anything engaging anymore. The drums are so stock-standard too, and that's when they're even there because the overuse of electronic beats in this song are really annoying as well. Everything else about Eluveitie has just grown so tired from lack of anything new over the past 3 albums and I've no doubt this one will be exactly the same.

@ianisamonkey1 Nah, it's not. The folk instruments are far more in the foreground, and it was more forgiveable then on their first few records. But we're on album 4 now, there's no excuse for such lazy and uninspired writing.

@yetisports0815 Faster isn't the issue. They've pushed the folk instruments so far into the background that they may as well not even be there anymore, not to mention the average as hell chugga chugga like guitars and the verse/chorus structure. They're not progressing, they're just forgetting what made them good and going for something simpler instead.

So now it is Folk-/Pagan-/Whatever-Metal with tiny influences of metalcore. They don't reinvent themselves, they are just going on their way which is very well.

I really enjoyed their last release. It kind of had me on the fence of which band I like better between them and Orphaned Land. Both fantastic, full of culture and history in their music.
