Train kept a rollin has always been MY freebird.  It is my song of choice from that era.

The 3 albums beginning with Get your wings are the 3 best consecutive albums ever put out. Not 1 bad track.Just to note,Dick Wagner does incredible guitar work for Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels.Listen to their version of Lou Reed's "Rock and Roll".Incredible

One summer morning in the mid '70s, an older friend of a friend had a classic, stereotypical '70s hifi, in his bedroom, complete with acoustic tile ceiling. The albums were spread out around the room so you could see a lot of the covers, and I sort of whispered to my friend, to get him to play something. He let me pick one, from which he played Seasons of Wither -- he said his parents were sleep, so he'd play something quiet. :-) That guitar intro. And then that kick drum. I was hooked.

Cool. :-) Yup, mid 70's for me, too. Seasons of Wither is what hooked me, too. Been a lifelong Aero freak every since. Even been backstage with the band. #1 for me all this time.

Its a good interview and a great album, I just think thay should have picked a song off the album to back this video up instead of one off Toys in the attic.

@MajorSecord Thanks for mentioning Hunter/Wagner. I never knew they had a hand in Aerosmiths sucess. Anyone....check out Lou Reeds "Rock And Roll Animal" cd...their intro to Sweet Jane is stellar.....

@sueellen360 I misunderstood....I thought you were referring to the "live " version of Train Kept-a-Rollin' that immediately follows the studio version on the Get Your Wings album.

Although I really don't mind it...I am the Lord of your Thighs!

@MajorSecord what "live" version are you talking about? i mean, aerosmith bootlegs and all those things, see this /watch?v=cgwlZvot1ic

@sueellen360 on the Get Your Wings album, Steve Hunter plays the solos on the studio version of Train Kept-a-Rollin; Dick Wagner plays lead on the so-called "live" version.

Hunter and Wagner trade off leads on Train on the get your wings album As Wagner said, it was the best kept secret in Rock n Roll. Those guys also played on tons of Alice cooper's stuff as well as the kiss destroyer album. I think it's cool. I have listened to Joe and Brad play leads on that stuff before and after it was recorded. They would have been fine on it. Douglas claims Whitford wanted to do all this complicated stuff and they just didn't quite have the chops yet but Wagner says Perry and Whitford could have played any of that stuff. I agree. The leads on the first album were great and I think this was just Jack making sure that everything on that album was geared towards a hit. I love that album. Probably my all time favorite, but I love almost all of their albums. Not a fan of done with mirrors and Get a Grip started the whole too many ballads records, but I still find at least four songs per album that I just love even now.

@MajorSecord ok, but who really cares about that? joe and brad play the song live, which i like better than studio version
MajorSecord 01 февраля 2010 года в 22:01 2
He neglected to mention that to help the album along, Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner were brought in to play lead guitar on a number of tracks. They were uncredited because the record company wanted it that way. Sorry to disillusion any of you that ever believed that was Joe Perry playing those solos on Train kept-a-Rollin'..................
